Stokes Lawrence is pleased to announce the addition of three attorneys.

Carl Rubinstein joins the firm as an associate in the Real Estate practice where he assists clients in all aspects of commercial and industrial real property transactions, including negotiating and drafting transaction documents, diligence, financing documents, and closing mechanics. He represents both landlords and tenants in commercial and office leasing, and provides advice and counsel to Washington State municipal organizations, including on ground leasing, purchases and sales, entitlements for capital projects, quiet title and condemnation actions, statutory and constitutional compliance and community engagement.

Derek Red Arrow Frank is an associate in the Litigation practice, where he assists clients with business disputes and litigation involving employment matters, taxation, trade, and contract law. Derek joins Stokes Lawrence with a passion for advocacy and an entrepreneurial spirit. He has worked as a staff attorney for Yakima Nation Office of Legal Counsel where he represented the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation in administrative, state, and federal trial and appellate courts on issues involving treaty rights, water rights, economic development, and tribal sovereignty. Derek is a former law clerk to Chief U.S. District Court Judge Brian M. Morris of the U.S. District Court of Montana. He also served as a law clerk for Nez Perce Tribe Office of Legal Counsel, Earthjustice, and the Civil Rights Unit at the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.

McKenzi Hoover joined the firm’s Litigation practice, where she assists clients with business disputes and litigation involving employment matters and contract law. Prior to joining the firm, McKenzi served as a Rule 9 intern for the Trial Team Unit in the Criminal Division of the Seattle City Attorney’s Office. From 2015 to 2017, McKenzi was a teacher with Teach for America in San Antonio, Texas.
